Hanssens Catering provides freshly prepared meals to schools.
Challenge

To achieve the required morning capacity, approximately 1,000 containers need to be prepared within a short period of time. Every day requires a different combination of container types, which must be presented in a specific sequence.
Solution

A standard gantry crane could not deliver the required speed and accuracy.

Therefore, Motus Handling developed a custom system capable of preparing two stacks of four containers in a single movement.

The structure operates under impressive accelerations and reaches speeds of up to 2 m/s in every direction.

Thanks to its smooth and efficient picking motion, the system performs its task reliably and continuously.

The gantry crane spans 16 metres.
