Challenge and Solution for Octabins
Motus Handling developed a custom lid remover for octabins and plastic containers.
The system automatically removes lids, holds them, and places them back.
This eliminates manual handling at a height of 2 m, improving operator safety and ergonomics.
The system is designed to handle tightly fitted lids and different container sizes.
It opens the lid in a controlled manner before lifting or replacing it. Electric actuators ensure precise and repeatable movements. The design is modular, fail-safe, and suitable for continuous food production environments.

Challenge and Solution for Plastic Containers
Because the lids must be interchangeable between containers, they are slightly larger than the containers themselves.
Accurate centering is therefore essential to prevent lids from extending beyond the container profile during storage and colliding with adjacent containers or lids.
Motus Handling designed a fail-safe centering mechanism for this purpose, manufactured in stainless steel and galvanized steel.
The system is resistant to wash-down cycles and can be integrated into a broader intralogistics automation solution.
